What makes The Roman Way different?

There are many other Roman history groups online. What sets The Roman Way apart from these is our dedication to face-to-face gatherings, sharing knowledge in a suportive way, and helping others to enjoy learning about Ancient Rome.

Our members are history enthusiasts who enjoy researching, recreating, and sharing information about all aspects of 1st century life with the public in a variety of venues. (See Events for more information.)

The Roman Way is about people first, and history second. With this in mind, our mission is:

  • To experience, learn about, and involve others in the fascination and recreation of daily 1st century Roman life, both civilian and military. All areas of individual research are encouraged and nourished.

  • To provide for members of all ages a structured, safe, and supportive experience of belonging. Children are very welcome in The Roman Way, and most of our events are kid-friendly. We often partner with homeschool and ROTC groups to help kids develop an interest in (and enthusiasm for) Roman history.

  • To instill in members an excitement about Ancient Rome and the sense that there is always more to learn (and an encouraging community in which to do so.) Our members share what they have learned with each other in a positive and encouraging environment on our discussion forum.

The Roman Way is a real-life network and community, not just an online group. Please join us!
